It was three days of awesome film experiences. From beginners classes for young Filmmakers and actors by Nollywood veterans Zack Orji and Charles Inojie, to Master Class by renowned director, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, and screening of over fifty movies and award evening.

Those in attendance referred to the last edition of the festival as the best “first-time film festival”.

CCFF 2021 witnessed a parade of filmmakers and star actors from home and abroad. Some of the notable attendees are Francis Duru, Charles Inojie, Zack Orji, Emeka Amakeze, and not notable directors like the President of Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN) Victor Okhai, Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, among many others.

The maiden edition was held from 25th to 27th March 2021. It was declared open by the Executive Director, National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Alhaji Adedayo Thomas. The opening film was the Enugu-based Filmmaker, Okey Oku’s blockbuster film “BLACK ROSE” which also won the Overall Best Film Category.

The festival also has the Senior Special Adviser to the government of Enugu State Nigeria, Mrs. Ndidi Obi who is also a respected actor in attendance to represent the government.

The founder of the Coal City Film Festival, Mr. Uche Agbo, noted during his closing remark that people should expect even a more robust Festival in 2022.
